Mazotos Beach Located less than 2km from Mazotos Panoramic Village, Mazotos Beach is managed as the Green Mango providing umberellas, sunloungers, and some food and drink. Costs are reasonable and the owners are helpful. Alongside the beach you can also find the excellent Akroyiali restaurant which serves cypriot food - especially local fish - all day and often has entertainment at night. Mazotos beach is reached by driving to the Camel Park and turning right down the side of the Camel Park until you reach the coastal road. Then turn left and follow the signs to the Akroyiali restaurant. Access to the beach is down a small dirt road that ends up at the beach and the restaurant. Alaminos Beach This beach, also known locally as Secret Paradise beach, is around 5 minutes drive from Mazotos Panoramic Village on the coast road heading towards Zygi. The beach is a managed beach with umberellas, sunloungers and a snack bar service. The beach is slightly bigger than the Mazotos beach and located alongside the picturesque Alaminos harbour. The sea is shallow and swimming is safe for children and adults alike. Over recent years Alaminos beach has become very popular, so getting there early is an advantage. Alaminos beach is reached by driving into the centre of Mazotos village; past St George's church and then turning left towards Zygi at the T junction. Continue on this road until Alaminos beach is signposted on the left, just before you reach the TUI Robinson resort. Access to the beach is down a small dirt road that goes all the way to the coast. Akakia Beach Bar If you carry on past the Alaminos beach and the Robinson resort for another 5 minutes or so, you will eventually come to the Akakia Beach Bar on the left hand side of the road. This is a small beach bar that serves food and drinks and has a managed beach area to the side. Once again umberellas and sunbeds can be hired at a reasonable price. The service is good and if you want a relaxing lunchtime meal, you should not be disappointed.
Softades Beach İs a popular beach for surfers and kitesurfing because of the strong winds in this area. The beach itself is sandy but mainly covered with pebbles. There are some facilities such as surf clubs and bars but during Covid some of the facilities closed down. There has however, but a recovery during 2021/22 and it should regain some of its youthful energy over the next few years. The easiest way to get to Softades beach which is about 7km away is by driving to the Camel Park and then turning left along the main road to Kiti. After a couple of kilometers, and just before the turning to Kivisili, turn right. Continue on this road until you reach the coast road and then turn left. Continue until you see signs to the beach on your right. Careta Beach Just a couple of kilometers further along the coast road heading towards Pervolia, you will come to Careta beach which is sandier than most other beaches in the area. Umberellas and sunbeds are available on site along with food and drinks. The area is once again very popular for surfing and kitesurfers. The nearby Kahuna Surfhouse is a training school and can provide excellent training and equipment. The pebbly front to the school has also been covered to make access to the sea more manageable. Obviously a surfers paradise. Faros Beach A bit further away from Mazotos Panoramic Village (14km), you will find Faros beach in Pervolia. The beach is relatively quiet and sandy and the water is shallow. The beach bar offers some food and drinks along with the hire of umberellas and sunbeds. the mini roudabout and follow the signs for Pervolia. Once in Pervolia follow the main road to Meneou and after a very sharp bend you will come to Faros Villas and you will see a sign to the beach on the right hand side. Mackenzie Beach If you are looking for larger blue flag beaches with more facilities and entertainment, then you probably need to go into Larnaca itself. Mackenzie beach is the nearest (19km)and possibly the best. It is located next to the airport and is ideal for families with young and older children. The beach is very big, sandy and with a shallow sea shore. You can hire umberellas and sunbeds right next to the sea. There are numerous bars and restaurants for food throughout the day and a large carpark area alongside. More important for most families, there are numerous toilets, shower and general washing facilities. With its location next to the airport you can also see the planes as they come into land. To get to Mackenzie beach you need to drive back to the airport and go stright on at the airport roundabout. Continue on the this road going straight on at another couple of rounabouts until you reach the salt lake on your left. At this point you need to turn right at the first set of traffic lights and then right again at the next roundabout which will take yo to the car parking area. Finikoudes Beach This beach is Larnaca's largest and most fameous beach and is located in the centre of the city. It is located alongside the main palm tree lined promenade and just down from Larnaca's marina. The beach has all the facilities that you would need and the vast array of hotels, restaurants and bars on the other side of the promenade can provide most kinds of food and drinks that you would ever require. If you need any other kind of shopping then the main shopping areas are only a short walk away. The only problem that you may encounter however, is that car parking in Larnaca is not very easy, but there are several small paying car parks - so long as you can find them. Larnaca is approximately 22km from Mazotos Panoramic Village, but it should only take you about 30 minutes in a car.
