PLACES TO GO
Whilst you are staying at Mazotos Panoramic Village, there are many places that you can visit, both locally and further afield. So long as you
have hired a car - which we would always recomend - your closeness to the Cyprus motorway network means that you can reach most parts of
the island within less than 2 hours. We detail below some of the places that you might like to visit during your stay.

Kiti Town
The town of Kiti is
the nearest large
town to Mazotos
Panoramic Village at
just over 10km. To
get there drive to the
Camel Park junction
and turn left towards
Larnaca. You will reach Kiti after about 11
minutes. The town has a wide range of
restaurants and bars. You may want to try
the Tamala Cafe Bar or Jacksons Gastro
Cafe-Bar both of which serve excellent
food indoors and outside. Booking may be
necessary. Kiti also has a large number of
supermarkets (including a Lidl), grocery
and food shops, clothes and electrical
shops, and many excellent cafes. You can
also find the main Bank of Cyprus branch
in the centre of town.
Water Parks
For the children
there are 2 large
water parks within
fairly easy reach of
Mazotos Panoramic
Village. The first is
the Fasouri
Watermania
Waterpark near
Limassol, which at 64km can be reached
by car in around 50 minutes. The second is
heading east to the WaterWorld Themed
Waterpark at Ayia Napa. Again this can be
reached (61km) in around 47 minutes,
using the motorway network. Both parks
are guaranteed to give you and your
children a fabulous day out.
Stavrovouni Monastery
Located on the top
of a large craggy hill
(750m), Stavrovouni
Mosastery is an
imposing sight. Built
in around 328 AD,
which makes it one
of the oldest
monasteries in the world. Stavrovouni is a
Greek Orthodox monastery and it claims
to hold a piece of the Holy Cross on which
Jesus Christ was crucified, along with
other relics, frescoes and icons. At present,
monks in Stavrovouni live a very strict form
of monastic life, similar to that of the
monks on Mount Athos. Women are not
allowed to enter the main part of the
monastery, but they are allowed to visit the
chapel out of it on the top of the hill. Today
there are over 30 monks living in the
monastery.
Zygi Village
Situated on the
south coast of
Cyprus, half way
between Larnaca
and Limassol, the
village of Zygi is a
popular place to visit
for its fresh fish
restaurants and fish Taverns. Zygi is just
18km from Mazotos Panoramic Village and
can be reached in 20 minutes by car. It has
its own beach, harbour and now a new
marina which is used a lot by locals and
tourists alike for trips out to sea to catch
the fish that thrive in the local sea areas.
Well worth a visit to sample the fresh fish
in one of the local taverns. The Captain's
Table and Old Zygi are two of the larger
restaurants located next to the marina.
Larnaca Salt Lakes
The Larnaca Salt
Lake is one of the
most important
habitats for
waterfowl in Europe.
The lake is actually
one of four lakes in
Larnaca collectively
covering a total area of 1.761 hectares. As
the lake fills with water and becomes rich
in nutrients during the winter months,
thousands of migrating birds including the
Greater Flamingo stop over between
November and March, feeding on tiny
brine shrimp. When food reserves run out,
the birds continue their journey to Africa.
The Hala Sultan Tekke overlooking the Salt
Lake is considered to be one of the most
important holy places of worship for
Muslims, ranked immediately after Mecca,
Medina in Saudi Arabia and Al Aksha in
Jerusalem.
Larnaca and Limassol
Mazotos Panoramic
Village is close to
both of these large
cities with Larnaca
being 30 minutes
away by car (22km)
and Limassol about
50 minutes (55km).
Both can offer their own special beaches,
promenades, shops, restaurants, cafes etc.
like any other large city. Whilst they are
both worth visiting, because it is slightly
nearer, Larnaca may be preferred because
of its blue flag beaches especially
Finikoudes and MacKenzie beaches and its
better traffic flows. But be warned both
cities are busy and finding a suitable
parking space could prove difficult. Bus
services are available between both cities
and this may be a interesting authentic
alternative. A new shopping mall has
recently been opened in Larnaca,
increasing your shopping opportunities.
Nicosia
As the capital city in
Cyprus, Nicosia is an
important place to
visit either for large
commodity
shopping (Ikea is
there) or for any of
the administrative
and municiple or cultural functions that
only exist in a capital city. But remember
that Nicosia is the last remaining divided
capital city in the world. Since the 1974
Turkish invasion, Cyprus has been divided
between the Turkish Republic of Northern
Cyprus (TRNC) and the Greek Republic of
Cyprus in the south. The "green line" is the
de facto border between the two
communities and runs east-west across
the whole of the island (including Nicosia)
with UN peace keeping forces stationed
along the line. Although there are
pedestrian crossings in Nicosia and
manned vehicle crossing points elsewhere,
this is still a potential conflict area and
guests should take appropriate care.
Nicosia is approximately 56km from
Mazotos Panoramic Village, but because it
is mainly reached by the motorway
network, it will normally only take around
55 minutes to reach the centre of Nicosia
by car.
Northern Cyprus
Although the TRNC
is only recognised
by Turkey, it does
contain some of the
most beautful parts
of the island of
Cyprus. For
adventurous guests,
it is fairly easy to
drive across the border and visit these
areas. But remember that not all car hire
companies will allow you to travel across
the border and even if they do, you will
need to buy separate insurance for driving
in the TRNC at the crossing point. Once
this has been completed, you are then free
to travel anywhere in the TRNC - but do
not try and bring back goods with you (e.g.
cigarettes or alcohol) as this may be seized
on re-entry to the south. There are many
sites to visit in North Cyprus including the
harbour and castle of Kyrenia (Girne); the
walled city of Famagusata (Gazimagusa);
Bellapais Abbey; a number of crusader
castles; the Karpas peninsula and the
roman ruins of Salamis. It will take you
around 1 hour 30 minutes (80km) to get to
Kyrenia (Girne) on the north Cyprus coast.
Mazotos Tavern
The village of
Mazotos is a
traditional Cypriot
village with a small
but friendly local
tavern. It also has 2
supermarkets; a little
cafe; a sports bar and
2 churches. The Mazotos Tavern is located
right in the centre of the village just a 10
minute walk from your apartment at
Mazotos Panoramic Village. It provides
locally sourced Greek food at reasonable
prices as well as providing a telephone
take away service. It is open daily until
10pm and serves various types of coffee
during the day; breakfast - English and
traditional Cypriot; a wide variety of
delicious traditional dishes at low prices
through a menu available in four different
languages. Free internet access is available
to all customers. For reservations, please
telephone +357 24432900 or +357
97718326. A definite must during your stay.
Atlantis Gardens
If you drive down
towards the coast
road, and head
towards Zygi, you will
quickly come to
another resort
complex called
Atlantis Gardens.
Located right next to the beach, Atlantis
Gardens is made up of a number of luxury
apartments and villas. The resort also has
a common pool with a separate kiddies’
pool; a Bar-Restaurant; Spa/Massage
facilities and a children's playground - all
set within beautiful gardens. Although
these facilities are mainly for residents, you
can obtain a day pass which can then be
offset against any purchases on site.
Telephone contact can be made through
+357 24333934. Well worth a visit.
Mazotos Camel Park
The Mazotos Camel
park is well known
and clearly
signposted accross
the island. It is less
than 1km away from
your apartment.
Famous for its
camels and camel rides, the Camel Park
keeps various other animals for the
children to see as well as a beautiful
swimming pool set in gardens and a
popular restaurant. Be warned though, the
Camel Park can get very busy during the
summer - especially on Bank Holidays.
Petreon Sculpture Park
This modern
sculpture park is less
than 3km from your
apartment and can
be reached in
around 7 minutes by
car. The park is
located close to the
Atlantis Gardens complex and consists of
an ever-growing collection of large scale
sculptures in a permanent open-air
exhibition. More small sculptures are
scattered throughout the gardens. A small
stone church has a collection of hand-
painted icons and a small amphitheatre
often plays host to poetry and music
nights in summer. The garden has more
than 200 different varieties of cactuses and
a vast array of Mediterranean fruit trees
and plants. Opening times may vary so
best to check beforehand. Details at

Robinson Club
Owned as a
subsiduary of TUI,
the Robinson Club
near Alaminos was
refurbished in 2021
and offers luxury all
inclusive holidays to
guests. The club is
located on the beach front at Alaminos on
the coast road towards Zygi. The club
offers a wide range of sports and activities
as well as a number of pools, bars and
